In my own words
I have been sticking to the Paleo lifestyle for about 2.5 years and am an avid CrossFitter, runner, and yogi. Last summer I moved to a new place and just started getting more relaxed with my diet. I started falling into the advice of many personal trainers recommending protein shakes and eat this and that. In the end I was super unhappy with my weight/body, craving sugar ALL the time, and very irritable.
I received my wedding dress in October and much to my dismay it didn't fit. The bridal shop had made the wrong measurements and left it on me to lose weight in order for the dress to fit. Needless to say, after the holidays I committed to doing the 21DSD. Not only did I lose the weight I needed to fit in the dress, but my whole outlook on food– especially sweets–has changed.
After about 40 days following the 21DSD guidelines, I had my first sip of wine and realized I didn't miss this AT ALL. I also had my first bite of dessert and realized I didn't miss that either.
Since finishing the 21DSD I have maintained most of the habits but allow myself a treat that may be sweetened with honey or dates. It's amazing the difference that the 21DSD made in my life! I can't wait to wear my wedding dress and feel like a confident and happy bride that I know I am!
