What was your “Why” that got you motivated to do the program?

“My journey started 5+ years ago when I was officially diagnosed with PCOS. I felt so defeated because it was at a time when I was hoping to become a mom. The gynecologist encouraged me to try the south beach diet and put me on metformin. I did both religiously and worked out like crazy. I lost about 50lbs and in 2014 got pregnant…fast forward 9 months. I had gained all of the weight back and then some. I was a new mom and eating healthy was low on the priority list. I got into running and completed a half marathon in 2017. And was within 20lbs of my pre pregnancy weight and then I took a hiatus from running and the weight came back and then I would lose some pounds because I would start running again, but I hadn’t fixed the real issue. My addiction to sugar and carbs. This past Christmas 2018, and after the huge wildfires that struck close to home in the surrounding community of Paradise. I was eating every sweet and carb in site. I gained 15 pounds in 3 short months. Being a person that has PCOS I know that sugar and refined carbs are the worst thing possible for me but I hadn’t broke free from the control sugar had on my life as a busy mom and wife”

“Carbs and sugar ruled my life even knowing what it does to my body. Although, I knew what a balance plate looks like and the importance of whole grains and vegetables. Meal planning, prepping etc was not a priority and conversations with my husband at the end of the work day would sound something like this…” What should we have for dinner tonight?” Tacos? One of us would run to the store before getting our preschooler and whip up a quick most likely unbalanced dinner. Breakfasts weren’t very exciting either, typically looking like eggs and toast, bagel etc. I was hoping the 21 day detox would break me free from the hold sugar and carbs had on me. I was hoping for some weight loss but wasn’t going to be frustrated if I hadn’t lost any. The day the daily guide arrived, I was so excited. I knew I could be successful and boy was I determined. The program was the easiest thing I have ever done. I have been left feeling so empowered and equipped to continue to eat healthy and balanced. I even convince my parents to jump on board.”
